The SS UNS S32100 coils respond well to hardening by cold working. The product percentage of carbon can be indicated by the amount of titanium content in the SS 321 coils, which is at least five times the carbon content. The SS UNS S32100 coils have good weldability properties and post-weld annealing is not normally required. The SS 321 coils are not sensitive to intergranular corrosion after heating within the carbide precipitation range of 425-850°C. Known to have good resistance to subsequent aqueous corrosion, the SS 321 coils don’t polish well. The SS UNS S32100 coils can be used in most diluted organic acids at moderate temperatures and in pure phosphoric acid at lower temperatures and up to 10% diluted solutions at elevated temperatures. SS 321 coils offer higher creep and stress rupture properties than SS 304 Grade coils.
Applications of the SS UNS S32100 coils are wide and include the manufacturing of the Aircraft exhaust manifolds and Expansion Joints. heating element tubing, Heat Exchangers and Thermal oxidizers are made using SS 321 coils as they offer high heat resistivity. These coils are used in the manufacturing of Pharmaceutical Equipment, Chemical Equipment and also used in Pulp and Paper Industry.
